Olivia's Smile Decor was born in 2014 with the birth of our first granddaughter, Olivia, and a tugging on my heart that God was using my experience in the decade prior to prepare me for such a time as this.
I spent most of my career working for two very large retailers managing item forecasts and assisting vendors in developing production and shipping efficiencies. Naturally, I am passionate about running the most efficient processes in my own business and using high quality fabrics with fun designs and interesting colors to make gorgeous pillow covers. All fabric is purchased from retailers and wholesalers in the United States, and all production is done from my clean, smoke-free studio in Phoenix, AZ on two heavy duty Artisan industrial sewing machines, and a Juki 6714 industrial overlock machine. I love to add detail like invisible zippers, contrasting or complementing trim, and professionally finished edges. I also love to showcase with color, and pick colors and designs that are on trend and would make a room bright with character, though I have been known to create with more subdued, rich grays and golds.
My husband, Cal Woodford, works tirelessly on finding great marketing opportunities on social media - and everyone he meets! - and helping with photography. He has an extensive background in multimedia so bonus! Built-in media man for the business! Without his patience, kindness, and sacrifice (including doing all the housework!) I wouldn't have the success I have been blessed with. He has more than earned his "man card"!
My other inspiration is my cheerleader and mom, Kathy Adair. She taught me to sew in junior high, and I protested as only a junior high tween could. I swore I would NEVER need to sew in the future - never say never! I am incredibly blessed that she taught me everything she knew, and she is still teaching me to this day! I rely on her advice constantly.
